The University of Milan (abbreviated as UniMi and also known as the Statale) is an Italian public university based in the city of Milan, founded in 1923, and is the largest academic institution in Milan and Lombardy, whose headquarters central is now located in the building of the Renaissance Ca Granda, wanted by the Duke of Milan Francesco Sforza. It is the only Italian university to be part of LERU (League of European Research Universities).
